Latest news from the earthquake region in the western part of the island

Another earthquake struck the western part of the island on 14. August 2021.

Haiti Futur has distributed yesterday on August 16 around 550 gallons of drinking water to 111 families in Picot and 125 gallons to families in Bouette, two localities of the second communal section of Camp-Perrin (Les Cayes). Thanks to 3 drinking water purification units, we will be able to ensure this distribution in other localities too.

What are purification units?

This device is used by the French Army, especially in their operations in the desert. It is produced by a company near Toulouse (FR) and costs around 4000 Euros. It can travel in a 23-kilo suitcase and comes with it’s autonomous energy source (a solar panel). It makes river water drinkable while keeping mineral salts.
